 MUSICIANS WANTED for THE WINDHAM COMMUNITY BAND
Musicians welcome in all sections!
This is a great time to join the Concert Band. We are preparing for our Christmas concert on Dec. 9 and will be playing holiday tunes. We are also preparing music for our Evening of Music on March 15. Our theme is musicals and we are preparing such tunes as Wicked and Phantom of the Opera..

| | Membership is open to adults of varying musical experience and all ages. High school and college students are encouraged to join as well. Many adult members played in school and then dusted off their instruments many years later to join the band. We also have many experienced musicians and music teachers.
The Concert Band rehearses from 6:45 to 9:00 PM Thursdays at the Windham Middle School, during the "School Calendar" year, from September to June. Summer rehearsals are held at the Windham Town Hall, from the close of the School year, through Labor Day. Please contact us or check our Concert Schedule for changes to scheduled Summer Rehearsals.
We are also recruiting new members for the Windham Swing Band, which plays swing music from the ‘30’s and 40’s up to the present. All swing band instruments are welcome. Rehearsals are Mondays at the Windham Middle School, during the "School Calendar" year. Summer Rehearsals are held at St. Matthew's Recreation Center, on Searles Rd., in Windham.
The Windham Flute Ensemble welcomes flutists interested in playing in a smaller group. We play light classical and pops selections. Rehearsals are Wednesday nights.

| | We are comprised of volunteer musicians led by Music Director, Jared Cassedy. Membership is open to all. Students at the middle school level need approval and support of their parents and music teacher after auditioning. We are committed to high quality performances for the enjoyment of our audiences. Members increase their enjoyment of music by honing their skills at rehearsals.
We rehearse weekly on Thursday evenings. We perform year-round, with more concerts in the May-September season. We have an executive board elected by the membership, and are supported by two co-managers. We are a non-profit organization, raising funds via donations and an annual fund-raiser concert. Members participate in fundraising by selling tickets and program book ads. We are very fortunate to have the support of local businesses.
We play about 15 concerts per year, with occasional extra events. Our standard concert attire is a Windham Community Band Shirt (to be purchased by each member) with navy blue slacks, with formal concert attire being white dress shirt, black dress slacks and shoes, and bow tie (tie furnished by the Band). We publish a schedule and a calendar for members to use in planning their schedule.
It is the responsibility of each new member to provide information, including a "user name", and "password" to access the "Band Member Area". All current information, or changes to our schedule will be posted on the "Member's Page". Email Mike Carchia at mcarchia@arrow.com
Maintaining high rehearsal and concert attendance is critical to our success in playing the wide variety of music our audiences enjoy. We have section leaders (identified on your roster/calendar) and you are responsible to let them know about your rehearsal and concert attendance in advance, for our planning purposes.
We love what we do, and encourage you to make the most of membership in the Windham Community Band. Our relaxed yet challenging approach to musicianship is deliberate - we want you to enjoy learning and performing in such a diverse and talented group. Again, welcome to the Windham Community Band.
